When installing globally, warn if the result won't be picked due to PATH issues
This should be as easy as checking the result of
which on the bin names after installation. Some care will need to be taken to not annoy symlink users. (Where, for example, one of the npm prefix and the PATH entry is a symlink to the other)

sudo prefixing the command?
You mean where
sudo uses a different path than the user usually does? It’s certainly a consideration. I would prefer that we find a way to eliminate the need to ever use sudo, but… that’s not a world we’ll get super fast.
