What I Wanted to Do

we retrieve the .npmrc file including the (readonly) token for registry.npmrc.org from a shared location.we run cmd /C npm install @vp-ui-accountancy-legacy-prebuilt-%BRANCH% @vp-ui-accountancy-current-prebuilt-%BRANCH% --verbose to retrieve the private packages with .npmrc in the same directory.

What Happened Instead

Sometimes this results in the npm install command hanging without producing any output -

Reproduction Steps

we tried with flag --loglevel silly, but it did not give much info about failures!
