npm install multiple global packages from local directory fails

(Alphapage) #1

I use docker node:8 container.

I want to install mypackage1 globally like this:
npm install -g ./mypackage1
No problem; “npm ls -g” shows: mypackage1@1.0.0

Then I want to install mypackage2 globally which has mypackage1 version 1.0.0 as dependency in package.json.
npm install -g ./mypackage2
It fails because of E404 unable to find mypackage1@1.0.0
It seems the problem is because during install, npm cli doesn’t search in the global local directories before requesting to npm registry.

Am I right ?
Do you plan to solve this problem ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

What does the entry in package.json for package1 in package2 look like?
