Node server to run front-end packages
I’m new in node… and I work with a server that does not have nodeJS.
I would like to use some front-end packages like request package.
Does I need to have node running on server to use those frontend packages?
Node is a platform with a REPL which does much more and is also meant for long-running processes. Normally you can add the node binary to the PATH variable and also use it on managed hosting.
As Node has often more access to the underlying system, can spawn (child) processes and so on it makes not much sense to use request without Node.
You could use some bundler like webpack, browserify or alternative solutions to get this working in a browser context.
