Issue: NPM Install yields 404s for packages with @ symbols

What I Wanted to Do

Install Package with @ while using .npmrc with private repository (that requires auth).

What Happened Instead

Recieved a 404 and fails.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Have .npmrc file with _auth value set and second registry set.
  2. Install package such as jimp npm install --save-dev jimp

I have a feeling this is a configuration issue and/or an issue with your private registry.
